FAQ

Questions?
Good.

Straight answers. If yours isn't here, just ask — there's no such thing as a silly app question.

All questions

How it works

Idea in.
App out.

Eight clear steps from “what if…?” to “download now”. You're involved at every decision — you just never have to touch the technical parts.

The journey

Eight steps. One team.

  1. The ideaTell us what you're thinking — a few sentences, a voice note, a sketch on a napkin. We'll ask the right questions.
  2. DiscoveryWe work out who the app is for, what it must do on day one, and what can wait. This is where good apps get their shape and budgets stay sensible.
  3. PrototypeA clickable version of the concept you can hold and tap through before full development starts. Cheap to change here, expensive to change later.
  4. DesignUser experience and visual identity. Screens that feel obvious to use and look like they belong on a premium phone.
  5. BuildOur developers turn the design into a working iOS and Android app, plus any backend, database, payments or integrations it needs.
  6. TestReal devices, real scenarios. Functionality, performance, accessibility and the small details users notice.
  7. DeployWe prepare your store listings, builds and submission details for the Apple App Store and Google Play, and support you through review.
  8. GrowUpdates, fixes, new features and new versions — as your users tell you what they want next.

Billions of Android devices. One idea.

Yours. Let's build it.

Apple App Store deployment

From build to App Store.

Building the app is only half the job. We prepare, submit and support your iOS release so you're not left staring at App Store Connect wondering what comes next.

What we handle

The App Store process.

  1. Developer account guidanceWe help you set up an Apple Developer Program account in your name, so the app is published by you.
  2. Certificates & signingSigning identities, provisioning and build configuration, set up correctly.
  3. TestFlightBeta builds for you and your testers before public release.
  4. App Store Connect listingName, description, keywords, categories, age rating and pricing.
  5. Store assetsApp icon, screenshots for required device sizes, and optional preview video.
  6. Privacy detailsPrivacy policy link and the app privacy information Apple asks for.
  7. Review preparationWe check the app against Apple's published review guidelines and prepare notes for the reviewer.
  8. Release & updatesManual, scheduled or phased release — and the version updates that follow.

The honest bit

What we can't promise.

Apple reviews every app and makes the final decision on approval and timing. No developer can guarantee acceptance. What we can do is prepare carefully, follow the published guidelines, and respond quickly if Apple asks for changes.

Apple, App Store, iPhone, iPad and TestFlight are trademarks of Apple Inc. App Producer is independent and not affiliated with Apple.

Your app. Live.

Whether we build it or you've built it already — we can help get it there.

Google Play deployment

From build to Google Play.

Play Console, app bundles, signing, testing tracks and rollouts. We prepare and manage your Android release so your app reaches Google Play properly.

What we handle

The Google Play process.

  1. Developer account guidanceWe help you set up a Google Play Console account in your name, including any verification steps Google requires.
  2. App bundles & signingRelease builds in the formats Google Play requires, with signing set up correctly.
  3. Testing tracksInternal, closed and open testing. Some new developer accounts must complete a closed test before going to production — we plan for it.
  4. Store listingTitle, descriptions, graphics, screenshots and categorisation.
  5. Data safety & content ratingThe data safety section, content rating questionnaire and target audience details.
  6. Policy preparationWe check against Google Play's published developer policies before submitting.
  7. Staged rolloutsRelease to a percentage of users first, then roll out fully when everything looks good.
  8. UpdatesNew versions, target API updates and ongoing releases.

The honest bit

What we can't promise.

Google reviews apps and decides on approval, timing and account requirements. Those rules change from time to time. We keep up with them, prepare carefully, and respond quickly to any feedback — but final decisions sit with Google.

Google Play and Android are trademarks of Google LLC. App Producer is independent and not affiliated with Google.

Ready for Google Play?

Let's get your app in front of Android users.

Partner with us

Could it be the next big app?

Pitch it to us. For selected ideas with real commercial potential, we may explore a partnership instead of a traditional development-only fee.

What it could look like

Shared risk. Shared upside.

  • Reduced development feesA lower build cost in exchange for an agreed share of what the app earns.
  • Revenue shareWe're paid partly from the app's success rather than entirely up front.
  • EquityFor some ventures, an agreed equity stake in the business behind the app.
  • Development investmentWe invest our team's design and development time into a project we believe in.

What we look for

Ideas with legs.

A real problemSomething people genuinely want solved — ideally you can explain who and why.
A path to revenueSubscriptions, transactions, advertising, B2B — a credible way it could earn.
A committed founderYou. Bringing the vision, the audience knowledge and the energy to grow it.

Straight talk

How pitching works.

We're selective.

We can only partner on a small number of projects, so most ideas won't qualify for a partnership — even good ones. If yours isn't a fit, we'll say so, and you can still work with us on a standard build if you'd like.

A pitch isn't a promise.

Submitting a pitch doesn't mean we'll invest, fund or partner, and nothing is agreed until terms are set out in a written agreement signed by both sides. We'd always recommend you take your own independent legal and financial advice before signing anything.

Protecting your idea.

Share a summary first — you don't need to reveal everything up front. Sending a pitch doesn't by itself create a confidentiality agreement. If you'd like an NDA before going into detail, tell us and we'll discuss it.

Think it's the one?

Pitch it. We'll look properly and give you a straight answer.

About App Producer

Anyone can have an app.

We started App Producer for one simple reason: great app ideas shouldn't die in a Notes app because someone didn't know where to start.

What we believe

Ideas first. Code second.

Most people with an app idea hit the same wall. Which developer? Which platform? What's an API? How do the app stores work? What will it cost? It's easy to give up before starting.

We take that wall away. You bring the idea. We bring product thinking, design, development, testing and deployment — and we explain things in plain English along the way.

We work with individuals, entrepreneurs, start-ups, creators, established businesses, brands and organisations. Big business, side project, crazy idea. Start here.

How we work

Our principles.

  • No jargon. If we can't explain it simply, that's our problem, not yours.
  • Straight answers. On cost, timescales and whether an idea will work — even when it's not what you hoped to hear.
  • Whole journey. From idea to live app, so nothing gets lost in hand-offs.
  • Built to last.Apps that can be updated, maintained and grown, not rebuilt from scratch.

You have the idea. We make the app.

Frequently asked

Good questions.

Everything people usually ask before building an app. Can't see yours? Ask us.

Answers

Straight ones.

How much does it cost to build an app?

It depends on what the app needs to do. A focused app with a few screens is a very different project from a marketplace with payments, accounts and an admin system. We don't publish one-size-fits-all prices because they're rarely accurate.

Instead, we talk through your idea, work out what version one really needs, and give you a clear estimate before any build work starts. If budget is tight, we'll help you find a smaller first version worth launching.

I only have an idea — is that enough?

Yes. That's exactly where we like to start. You don't need a business plan, wireframes or a technical spec — a few sentences explaining what you wish existed is plenty. We'll help shape it from there.

Do I need to understand technology?

No. You don't need to know Swift, Kotlin, APIs, servers, databases or deployment. We'll explain decisions in plain English and only ask you about the things that matter to you and your users.

Can you build both iPhone and Android apps?

Yes. We design and build for iOS and Android. Depending on the app, we'll recommend native development for each platform or a cross-platform approach that shares one codebase — and explain the trade-offs so you can choose.

Can you publish my app to the App Store?

We prepare your app, listing, screenshots and privacy details, handle the submission and support you through Apple's review. Apple makes the final decision on approval, so no one can guarantee it — but careful preparation makes a real difference.

Can you publish to Google Play?

Yes. We handle app bundles, signing, testing tracks, store listing, data safety details and release. Google decides on approval and sometimes has extra requirements for new developer accounts, such as closed testing — we'll plan for those.

How long does an app take to build?

It depends on scope. Simpler apps can move quickly; complex platforms take longer. After discovery we'll give you a realistic timeline with milestones, and keep you updated if anything changes. Store review times are set by Apple and Google and can vary.

Who owns the app?

On a standard paid build, the intention is that you own your app. Ownership of code, designs and other intellectual property is set out clearly in your written agreement before work starts, and we recommend the app is published under developer accounts in your name. Partnership projects will have their own agreed terms.

What happens after the app launches?

Launch is the start. We can support you with fixes, operating system updates, store requirement changes, new features and future versions — through ongoing support arrangements agreed with you.

Do you sign NDAs?

We're happy to discuss an NDA before you share detailed or sensitive information. Please note that submitting an idea through our website doesn't by itself create a confidentiality agreement — so start with a summary and tell us if you'd like an NDA in place first.

What does the partnership option mean?

For selected ideas with strong commercial potential, we may explore an arrangement other than a straight development fee — for example reduced fees in exchange for an agreed revenue share or equity, or investing our development time. Every arrangement is different and only agreed in writing.

Will you invest in my app idea?

Possibly, but most ideas won't qualify and we can't promise funding or investment. We're selective and look for a real problem, a credible route to revenue and a committed founder. Pitch it and we'll give you an honest answer.

Can you improve an app that already exists?

Yes. We can review an existing app, then help with redesigns, new features, performance improvements, fixing store issues or getting it up to date.

Can you take over an unfinished app project?

Often, yes. We'll start by reviewing the code, designs and accounts you have, then tell you honestly whether it's best to continue, rework parts or rebuild. Access to the source code and store accounts makes a big difference.

Still wondering? Just ask.
